Pre-Plone Conference Training: Plone Content Management
An introduction to Content Management using Plone. This course will introduce you to the basics of the Plone interface. We will cover key concepts both general to all Content Management Systems and specific to Plone. We will also touch on a few more advanced concepts that will help you understand what you can do with plone.

- There are two primary audiences for this training: Plone users and Decision makers. The value for Plone users is simple, for those completely new to Plone you will be given the basics of how to effectively use this great Content Management System. For Decision Makers we will cover the basics of what a CMS IS, how it may be used, what are the key features of Plone, and how to leverage the extensive Plone community and resources to help in your project. We will be looking at a variety of add-on products for Plone to help highlight the versatility and expandability of this great system.

- Instructor: Richard Amerman
- Richard has been involved in training and speaking for most of his life. He was originally on course towards an eduction degree but, as happens to many of us, was waylaid by technology. He has spent time as a Hang Gliding instructor, taught first aid, and CPR as well as various music related topics. In the past 12 years he has spoken and thought on technology topics throughout the Northwest. He now focuses on Plone and Asterisk. He spoke at the first Plone conference and has been presenting on Plone for the last 4 years.

Requirements
There are no specific requirements for this training other than curiosity. It is fine to bring a laptop and to follow along while playing with a Plone instalation installed localy on the machine brought along. Keep in mind that we will not have time to stop during the class to deal with any issues you are having on your machine so only go this route if you are comfortable enough with the machine and Plone.
