Overview

Richard Amerman of 7 Tech Northwest in Vancouver, WA, will be doing a talk on ArchGenXML. This tool allows you to visualize your simple or complex custom content type using UML, a standard visual language for modeling systems. You can draw out your type, add the attributes needed, add some tags describing details about the classes and attributes, export the drawing as XML, then feed it through ArchGenXML. Out the other side comes a full file system based Archetypes Plone Product. We will cover the background needed, look at the process in action, take a look at the up-coming replacement for ArcheGenXML (Genesis), and discus the benefits (and pitfalls) of developing this way.
